In this assignment, you are going to write about your
favorite photograph in a way very similar to how the Grandfather describes
his homeland, Japan. Why did you choose this particular photograph?
What does it represent for you? How does viewing it make you feel? Why?
EXPLAIN!
You
have already seen Allen Say, the author, explain his Grandfather's journey
using pictures and words. You will also watch Mrs. Geib explain what
is her favorite picture and why. Then you will do the same with your
own pictures and words!
For
homework, find a picture/photograph that you may bring to class to share
and write one strong paragraph exaplaining why it is your favorite and
how it makes you feel. Include WHO the picture is about,
WHAT is happening, WHEN did it occur,
WHERE were you, and WHY you find it
a special part of your life. Please reread your paragraphs for editing
and revising.
