We have read a story about a long journey and have written about such a journey we have taken together.

Now it is time to think about the journey we are beginning together in fourth grade. What is you want out of this school year? What are your goals?

Your essay will consist of three paragraphs. Your first paragraph should be an introduction of yourself. We will work together to construct a good beginning in class.

Your second paragraph will be about your academic goals. What would you like to improve upon in school? Which subjects do you think you need to focus upon in particular? After you have decided on the subjects, how are you going to improve? Your goals need to be concrete and measurable.

Lastly, your third paragraph will contain your personal goals. This can include improving relationships with friends and family, excelling at sports or other hobbies, or just trying to be a more positive person. Again, your plan of action will be specific and concrete.

In review, this is the order of your paragraphs:

After you have written your goals letter, we will keep these documents and see throughout the year how you are faring on reaching your goals. If there are adjustments to be made, we will make them!
