You
will write a poem about autumn... use the five senses (see, hear, smell,
touch, taste) to enrich your writing. Afterwards, you will write this
on a leaf and decorate it.
POEM RUBRIC:
- Alliteration: use repeated
beginning vowel/consonant sounds (example:
twirling, tumbling and trembling the timid leaf made its way toward
the earth)
- Personification: giving human
qualities to an object (example:
the leaves danced and skipped as the wind gently played soft music)
- Simile: comparing two objects
using like or as (example:
the leaves painted the ground like colored rain)
- Active verbs and adjectives
(example: use colors such as russett, copper, gold, vermillion, scarlet
and words such as: skipped, crackled, snapped, silky, crunchy )
