Haiku Assignment
Since we have recently learned about the four geographical regions of California, your assignment is to write a haiku focusing upon one region of your choice.
Please recall the four regions:
- Pacific Coast
- Central Valley
- Mountains
- Desert
A haiku is a traditionally Japanese poem which tries to capture a moment often relating to nature.
Here is a template for writing a haiku:
1st
line=five syllables
2nd line=seven syllables
3rd line=five syllables
An example of a haiku about the Pacific Coast would be as follows:
Ocean
Crashing
blue water-
Briny salt air stings my nose,
sing liquid freedom.
